If you want Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to notify you when a certain cell
condition exists, then users must use a cell formatting option.
Users can make the format change to flag a user that a certain cell condition
is met. Changing the cell format when meeting a certain condition is
often inadequate for users, because the cell may not
be directly visible. For example, the special formatting might
be taking place on another worksheet and the user may have no idea that the
cell condition is met. Most users wish to have a more
pronounced notification system. The Cell Events works with the user
defined cell criteria and provides a message box to the user when a cell
condition exists. In the message box, the user has the option to be taken
to the cell with the conditions that were just met. Below is the screen
